These vintage, Shasta-inspired dog campers will definitely get you in the camping mood. The creator of these unique indoor doghouses, Jumahl, says that he started this project as a labour of love. He has been a woodworker for over 45 years. He started as a carpenter and later apprenticed in furniture design and construction. After that, Jumahl spent 12 years as a boat carpenter and custom yacht joiner. Then he started building The Tradesman old time banjo for Kevin Enoch in 2005 to the present.
Getting in the mood for camping with Indoor Camper Doghouse
Jumahl started out making vintage, Shasta-inspired camper bird houses. Then his wife convinced him that he needed to scale one up for dogs. After a few attempts he perfected the Indoor Camper Doghouse. The doghouses are designed for indoor use and are not built to withstand bad weather conditions. We can see the quality and craftsmanship in the pictures of the doghouse camper. They look beautifully made and we love the design. One could make a great little hide out for you dog, like a private play room.
On nice days, you can pull the doghouse camper outside so your dog can enjoy sitting out in the sun with some privacy. Useful if you have more than one pet – you can give them their own space.
The Indoor Camper Doghouses are constructed of cabinet-grade Baltic Birch plywood; they have aluminum-clad tops and are finished with durable oil based primer and paint. The wheels roll, making them easy to move around. The interiors are furnished with comfy 2″ thick memory foam pad. The body of the camper measures 35″L by 25″W by 26.5″H, total length including tongue is 44″ and it weighs 36 pounds. The camper doghouse suits dog up to 30 lbs. We can imagine it would be suitable for cats as well.
All in all we are impressed with this unique Doghouse and it’ll look perfect with a home with vintage styling homes.
