Colonel Meow with his Guinness World Records 2014 certificate:

Colonel Meow is a two-year-old Himalayan-persian crossed and he was adopted by Anne Marie Avey and Eric Rosario from The Himalayan & Persian Society. He had 10 strands of his fur measured by 3 different vets and the average length was submitted to the Guinness World Records. His fur reaches 22.87cm (9inches)!

“We already knew that he was the best cat in the world, but to be recognized in the Guinness World Records book takes it to the next level,” Anne gushed, while also admitting, “Literally everything in the house has hair on it, including us! I feel like I’m always vacuuming!”

“I have a lint roller in my car, in my bedroom on my nightstand, in the kitchen. We have one everywhere because his hair gets everywhere,” Anne said. ”But it’s worth it.”

Colonel Meow’s hair need to be brushed 2-3 times a week. The owners said they’ve never used any products on him just apply water and brush if he gets dirty. News of his record breaking fur is going to push Colonel meow into the internet cat stardom. The couple and their pets has just moved to L.A. ready for the next step of Colonel Meow’s stardom.
