Harry Barker is a luxury pet product brand founded by ex Ford Model Carol Perkins in 1997. When Perkins was recovering from Cushing’s disease, she turned to her love of dogs and textiles for therapy. She began creating dog beds , toys and robes for her friends’ pets. After the initial success she started to take orders and hand sew each products with care and launched Harry Barker from a table in her New York City loft.
“There are so many things I love about dogs. I love the funny noises they make, like they’re trying to talk to us. I love the silly tricks they do – like Norman the Briard, who learned how to ride a bike. I especially love how they’re there for us, even in our toughest times. Dogs were some of my best companions when I was recovering from a rare brain tumor years ago.” said Perkins.
