This is a very exciting invention indeed – a Turkish company, called Pugedon, has invented a vending machine that releases food and water for Istanbul’s stray cats and dogs in exchange for recycled plastic bottles!

The machine has containers for water and dry food. You can also pour the remaining water from your bottle before recycling too. A fixed ratio of kibbles and water is dispensed when a bottle is recycled.
The project has been welcomed by Istanbul’s citizen since they have over 150,000 stray animals. This is such a great idea that we think there should be vending machines like this everywhere. Not only can we help feed stray animals but we are helping our environment at the same time.
